This week 13 children reached 1000 house points and earnt their silver badge! A huge congratulations for this achievement.

Well done to everybody for another super week in Buttercup Class, you should all be super proud of yourselves.

Celebrating Shabbat

Today we made Challah bread to help us celebrate the Jewish festival of Shabbat. We worked in groups to follow the recipe carefully and we had a great time kneading the dough and creating the shape of the bread. Once it had been cooked we sat down together to eat it with some grape juice and discussed what a Jewish family would do during Shabbat.

Safer Internet Day

Tomorrow is Safer Internet Day! We kicked started this off with a whole school assembly today led by Miss Smallshaw who explored kindness online and what that might look like. We created a ‘Kingsteignton School Kinder Online’ recipe that thought carefully about the different things we need to make our time online a nice place with our friends!

Praise Assembly – 4.2.22

This week the ‘Star of the Week’ was awarded to Caleigh and Jude for being super class ambassadors. This week they attended a class ambassador meeting and shared our ideas with everyone about how to improve playtimes. They then reported back the outcomes of the meeting to Buttercup Class, who were excited to learn that some of their ideas had been listened to, (sadly not the swimming pool and water slide!) Whilst we understand it won’t happen immediately, we are looking forward to having a sand pit in the playground.

The Handwriting Certificate was awarded to Finn this week as he has been working super hard on his pencil control and letter formation. As a resilt of his hard work and effort his presentation has improved.

The ‘House Point Champion’ this week was awarded to Esme for being so enthusiastic in her learning this week and accurate use of adjectives in her writing.

This week Ben was the very first person in Buttercup to reach 1000 house points and earn his silver badge! A huge congratulations goes to Ben for this achievement.

There will be lots more badges in the coming weeks as several children are close to the 1000 mark.

Well done to everybody for another super week in Buttercup Class, you should all be super proud of yourselves.

How to hide a lion at school

This week, in English, we have been immersing ourselves in the story, ‘How to hide a lion at school’ by Helen Stephens. We have listened to the story, drawn story maps to show what happened, made lion masks and role played the story. We had great fun takung it in turns to be the lion and hiding around the classroom.
